Why this site exists

Easy Smart Home HQ was built for one specific kind of reader: people who want to add smart home gear to their place without overthinking it. Renters who don't want to drill holes. New homeowners just getting started. Anyone who has ever stared at fifteen "Best Smart Plug 2026" listicles and walked away more confused than when they started.

We don't write for smart home enthusiasts who already own twelve Z-Wave hubs. We write for the rest of us — people who want one good plug, one good bulb, or one good camera that just works.

How we pick what we recommend

Every product we recommend on this site fits at least one of these criteria:

• We've owned and used it ourselves
• It has months of consistent positive feedback from real owners (not paid influencers)
• It works with the most common smart home ecosystems (Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Matter)
• It's reasonably priced for what it does — no inflated "premium" tax for basic features
